When it is urgently necessary to get someone from Saltaire to the hospital,
the Fire Company can request a helicopter evacuation.  It happens infrequently but when it does, it is impressive.  Those who watch often comment on how smooth and easy it looks.  And so it does, but it is the product of intense planning and training by the Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company.
